Thanks to Junior Varsity Naturals, I had the wonderful opportunity to review these products with my daughters! I admit I was skeptical if a truly "natural" deodorant would be effective in fighting odor. My girls had to start wearing deodorant at a young age and I had already tried a leading natural deodorant that just did not do the trick!

First off, not only did these deodorants smell good, they also worked to fight odor! My girls love to play outside with their friends for hours on end, and when they come inside, I do not have to deal with any funky odors whatsoever anymore!

I will admit I knew that it was important for kids to use natural deodorant, my pediatrician had recommended it. I had given up though after a failed natural deodorant attempt and was settling for letting them apply a thin coat daily of one of the leading deodorants. After reading just what's in these leading deodorants, and the fact that my children have been using them, I am cringing! I wish I would have found Junior Varsity Naturals sooner! Now that it has proven to work for our girls, I will never go back to leading deodorants for them again!

I had the opportunity to review Junior Varsity Naturals Kids Deodorant. We received full size samples of both the Cherry Blast and Citrus Sport natural deodorants to try. We kept the Cherry Blast, and gave the Citrus Sports to our friends’ 10 year old son to try.

Our Thoughts
The girls were so excited to review this natural kids deodorant. Coco and I opened the package while waiting for Lulu to get off the school bus. When she got off the school bus, they decided that they needed to take a shower right then and there, but we had company over, a 4 year old family friend, and had someplace to be in about 35 minutes. So they took a shower that evening. I think this was the first time EVER that they were excited to take a shower over a bath. They felt the shower would get them to the deodorant more quickly, I think. Now it is part of their after-bath routine. And I’m okay with that. With all-natural ingredients and a pleasant, fruity smell, I don’t mind that they’re always reaching for their new, natural deodorant.

I reviewed feedback about the deodorant we gave away. The 10 year old is relatively active, and his parents’ really appreciated that it was natural. He had been using deodorant before, and this one is working out well.

This product is a good fit if you’re nervous about the chemically-laden products currently on the market, especially when you’re using them on your children. While my daughters are only 4 and 6, we’ve been using as many natural products as we can (afford), ever since my youngest was diagnosed with a congenital adrenal deficiency shortly after birth. And although many people wouldn’t think that 4 and 6 year olds need deodorant, when they’re playing outside, in 100 degree weather (like today, in Columbia, SC), they are STINKY when they come inside. This deodorant helps with that. I also like to rub it across the bottom of their feet, and it helps their feet not to stink and sweat so much.

Natural Girls and Boys Deodorant, by Junior Varsity Naturals

Junior Varsity Naturals is the 1st producer of natural, gender specific, kid’s deodorants. We were fortunate to receive both the girl’s and boy’s fragrances.

The Girl’s fragrance is a sweet cherry scent, while the boy’s scent is a refreshing Citrus. These deodorants are all extremely gentle, there are no parabens, no aluminum, and no propylene glycol.

They are also antibacterial and being a clear type deodorant, they leave no white residue on your arms or clothes. What they do include are all natural and naturally derived ingredients that would make any Mom feel good about letting their young child’s first experience with deodorant be a good one.

My daughter who is just a week shy of 10 years old was the perfect tester for Junior Varsity Naturals Deodorant. The moment she opened it she commented on the “Sweet” cherry scent. She also liked that it was clear and not white like her other deodorant. We decided to test her deodorant on a Gym day, which is a true test for her, she has said that gym days make her “stinky” since last spring.

My review of the product is fantastic. Kids play hard. There’s playing hard in the winter and there’s playing hard in the summer. It’s summer and this playing hard stinks!
